You want that wow effect when everyone enters the room…. It’s all in the wedding theme…. You only have one chance to make a first impression.
The theme of your special day should represent your personality, reflect a season or colour and fit your budget. A continuous theme will add to the momentum and create an ambience. This can range from coordinating your invitations, to styling, to flowers, dresses and menus.
- Choose a Colour Scheme: – This is what creates the vibe or mood of the day. Choose your favourite colours that reflect whether it is a formal or casual affair. I.e. black & white with a touch of red. Tie in the colours with bridesmaid dresses, as well as the grooms cummerbund or waistcoat.
- Consider the Setting: – If you have a venue booked, look at the fixtures and fittings, drapery, what can be covered, this will help you determine a complimentary colour scheme… unless you are planning a marquee, then you have a blank canvas to work with.
- Consistent Theme: – From ceremony to wedding, or you can do ‘out of the box’ and completely contrast the two. Match your wedding colours with flower blooms. Be mindful of what works well in winter would be less suitable for spring or summer. Pastels for Spring / Summer, Winter / Autumn- russet, gold, brown, orange or amber. Don’t go overboard with colour as you will overwhelm the wedding
